About
Dr Felicia Scott-Wellington is a board certified Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine Physician. As the co-Director of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Taskforce at the University of Illinois at Chicago Department of Pediatrics, founding member of the Injury Free Coalition for Kids Chicago Medical District Chapter, and 2021” Black History Maker” award recipient from the University of Illinois Chancellors Committee on the Status of Blacks, Dr. Scott-Wellington is passionate about advocacy and education especially as it relates to under-represented minority youth.
Since joining the Adolescent Medicine team at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2017 she has worked with
medical students as an Urban Health Program Lead Pediatric Faculty Advisor, Urban Health Program Faculty Mentor, M3 Peds rotation lecturer, and M1 student Physician House Advisor. She has given countless lectures to students, residents, and faculty in Chicagoland and abroad on topics such as Adolescent Health, Effects of Race and Racism on Teen Health, Youth Health Disparities, Teen Vaccines, and Racially Driven Hate Crimes Against Youth. Over the last few years, she has worked in conjunction with the Chicago Department of Public Health, Illinois Chapter of AAP, and Ever Thrive Illinois on their efforts to promote adolescent vaccines and evaluate vaccine hesitancy amongst minority families.
Dr Scott-Wellington is a proud Chicagoan and community advocate, serving as an invited lecturer to a host of conferences, medical associations, community health centers, churches, and local radio stations.
