Alivio Medical Center Celebrates 34th Anniversary Gala

Lifetime Achievement Award winner Esther Sciammarella

Alivio Medical Center recently celebrated its 34th anniversary gala “A Magical Evening” at the Epiphany Center for the Arts, 201 S. Ashland, to celebrate the communities they serve and in support of providing affordable health services to those who need it most.

UIC Chancellor Marie Lynn Miranda joined the celebration in support of Alivio’s gala honorees, including Esther Sciammarella, executive director of the Chicago Hispanic Health Coalition and community affairs specialist for the UIC Institute for Minority Health Research.

Alivio Medical Center honored Sciammarella with a lifetime achievement award for her many years of advocacy and service addressing the health issues faced by the Latino community across the Chicago area.

Sciammarella works closely with the UI Hospital and Health Science System in the development of the health programs and classes offered at the UI Health Pilsen Family Health Center, 1713 S. Ashland.
