UIC Attends Metropolitan Family Services Gala

UIC at the Metropolitan Family Services Gala

The University of Illinois at Chicago officials recently attended the Metropolitan Family Services “Mpower the Night” annual gala, in support of the programming and leadership for one of the largest social service agencies in Chicago.

The event was attended by UIC Chancellor Marie Lynn Miranda along with College of Applied Health Sciences Dean Carlos Crespo, Great Cities Institute Director Teresa Córdova and UIC Community Relations Senior Director Miguel Alba.

Metropolitan Family Services is headed by Chief Executive Officer Ricardo “Ric” Estrada, who is a former two-term member of the University of Illinois Board of Trustees.

Speaking to the those in attendance, Estrada thanked everyone for their support and extended a special “thank you” to Wintrust, the agency’s 2023 Legacy Award honoree, along with Wintrust Chief Executive Officer Tim Crane, who has been on the agency’s government board for almost two decades.
