Download iCal FileThe Minority Health Conference is a yearly gathering where professionals and students from allied health fields come together to uncover and focus on eliminating the health challenges encountered by marginalized populations. This conference seeks not only to shed light on health inequities that persist in marginalized communities, but to also build a task force of emerging leaders and professionals to address these issues at the local, regional, and national levels.
2022 Theme: That past few years have been extremely challenging and have posed multiple overlapping crises that have impacted human health and well-being, with the COVID-19 pandemic being just one of them. Due to these crises, our society has been given a unique opportunity to take a look at what has changed and what should be changed to improve public health via government institutions, educational institutions, health systems and communities at large.
Our 2022 theme, derived from UNC's Minority Health Conference, is Revolutionary Healing and Rebuilding, focusing on learning from the past to improve the outlook for tomorrow.
Public health is an active and integral actor in these for social change. As field, public health must intentionally shed light on disparities that persist due to structural and social inequalities and provide pathways to promote better health for all. We hope the 2022 conference will create a forum that sets the stage for more effective and engaging advocacy efforts in our communities far and near.
