Kareem Rabie (associate professor of anthropology at UIC) has organized a book talk at Pilsen Community Books featuring Orisanmi Burton (assistant professor of anthropology at American University) in conversation with filmmaker Maryam Kashani (associate professor of gender and women's studies at UIUC) and local musician/artist/educator Damon Locks about Burton’s new book Tip of the Spear: Black Radicalism, Prison Repression, and the Long Attica Revolt.
