Discuss questions and/or issues you might be facing with the first ever Muslim Chaplain of UIC, Ariz Saleem.

A Muslim chaplain is an individual that is trained in Islamic knowledge and jurisprudence and understands the norms and culture of society. The chaplain offers their services to students on campus to help guide and counsel them through their struggles in life in the light of Islam.

Saleem received his Masters of Divinity from the University of Chicago. He has chaplaincy experience at Loyola University, Rush Hospital and Cook Country Jail. He has studies Classical Arabic in Egypt and the Islamic Tradition and has conducted research on the intersection of psychology and Islam in Pakistan.
