Join us for a conversation with Mimi Khúc, PhD, on un/wellness in the academy and pedagogies of unwellness. This smaller session has faculty and graduate instructors in mind: How do we hold our commitments to generating knowledge, transformative pedagogy, and our own un/wellness in environments centered on productivity rather than care? As Khúc asks: What structures need to be in place to shift my relationship to work, to writing, to my needs, to my capacities?
Hosts: UIC Women’s Leadership and Resource Center, Disability Cultural Center, and Department of Disability and Human Development.
Co-sponsors: UIC Asian American Resource and Cultural Center, Global Asian Studies, Gender and Women’s Studies, Institute for the Humanities, and Center for the Advancement of Teaching Excellence.
Flyer description: Event title in bold gray text above a deep plum rectangle. A pale aqua background has a wavy top that looks like water rising to the word "surviving" in the title. To the right is a photo of Mimi Khúc, and below are icons for captioning and masking; a QR code to the event listing; and logos for the hosts and co-sponsors.
