Download iCal FileThe inaugural Community Signature Event in the Odehmenan Health Equity Center is coming on April 22, 2024! The purpose of these events is to partner with community members from the inception through the evaluation of the program.
Please join us on Earth Day for programming that brings awareness to the healing power of water. Join us as Native American women speak, teach, and sing about the sacredness of water, including Maryellen Baker (Ojibwe) founder and director of Abiinooji Aki, Inc., a non-profit organization located on the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation. Our goal is to connect, learn, and reflect how we can protect our water and help restore our communities.
Both breakfast and lunch will be catered to those in person by Jessica Pamonicutt (Menominee) of Ketapanen Kitchen, Chicago's only Native American executive chef.
This event is a collaborative effort with Abiinooji Aki, a non-profit organization committed to mitigating alcohol and drug use and promoting mental health, women’s health and spiritual growth in the Lac Courte Oreilles (LCO) tribe, and the American Indian Health Service of Chicago, who are dedicated to providing quality culturally competent healthcare to the American Indian and Alaska Native community.
