Dr. Shweta Yadav is currently a Bridge to Faculty Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Computer Science department at UIC. Previously, Dr. Yadav was a postdoctoral research fellow at the U.S. National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health (NIH). She received her Ph.D. degree in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology Patna, India in 2019.
Her research interests lie at the intersection of Natural Language Processing, Healthcare-informatics, Biomedical Text Mining, and Computational Social Science. Dr. Yadav's research works aim to develop effective and efficient machine learning algorithms to accelerate the development of artificial intelligence in the healthcare and medical domains. She has a strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and has experience working on emerging real-world problems in healthcare and social sciences. Her current research works focus on developing computational methods for medical document summarization, disease progression, and prediction of health outcomes from electronic health records and social media.
Her work has been featured in top Natural Language Processing conferences like ACL, NAACL, EACL, WWW/TheWeb, COLING, and journals like PLOS ONE, IEEE/ACM Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Knowledge-based System, Soft Computing, Knowledge-based Information Systems, and The Transactions on Multimedia Computing Communications and Applications.
