Lawrence Brown is a Bridge to the Faculty Fellow in the Department of Public Administration. He is interested in public personnel administration and representation with a focus on hiring, promotion, retention, and turnover in American government employment. His research navigates these issues with particular attention to race and class. His most current research investigates federal diversity policy and its role in addressing persistent issues of racial and gender under-representation in the federal workforce. He received a BA in English from Stillman College in 2014, an MPA from the University of Alabama in 2016, and a PhD in Public Administration from the University of Georgia in 2020.
