Advancing Racial Equity

UIC’s Advancing Racial Equity (ARE) initiative is a response designed to address the institutional and structural racism that impacts our campus and our neighboring communities.
Bridge to Faculty

This recruitment initiative aims to attract and retain promising scholars to UIC as well as diversify our faculty, with particular emphasis on departments with low or no presence of faculty who are underrepresented in their field.
Dialogue Initiative

The Dialogue Initiative is a social justice education program designed to facilitate learning about social inequality, social identities, and engaging across differences.
Diversity Community Engagement Program

The DCEP is designed to expand students’ career readiness and community engagement skills through an internship hosted by our seven Cultural Centers and their community partners.
