Please join the GSC and Troy Alim, Midwest Organizer at Young Invincibles, and Women Employed as we harness the power of storytelling to advocate for issues that matter to us and effect real change in our state! Refreshments will be served.

Our Lobbying for Change workshop will review the basics from past workshops of sharing your story, how to frame an issue, and how to lead a legislative meeting. These are highly valuable skills that are useful in both academic and professional contexts. This workshop will prepare students for attending the FREE Lobby Day trip in April with Young Invincibles and Women Employed when we will meet with policymakers in Springfield and share our stories to influence change.

Queer UP! series was created to highlight the importance of leadership development as a crucial component for representation and inclusion. It provides workshops to build skills and learn about the many ways to advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights.
