Have you heard about the UIC Disability Cultural Center’s Community Care Cohort and want to learn more? Join us for an info session! We will describe the internship and answer any questions you may have. You'll also have the opportunity to talk with current interns!
Here are some quick facts:
Who: UIC Undergraduate students with lived experience of disability (non-normative bodies/minds)
When: Fall 2025 and Spring 2026, with option to continue in the 2026-2027 school year
Time commitment: Around 2 hours per week (33 hours per semester)
Stipend: $500 per semester (student account payment)
Things we explore in the first year: Disability Justice, Care Work, Mutual Aid, and more!
Audience Note: This event is for anyone interested in the CCC internship at the DCC! This event is not appropriate for an assignment as we will not be directly discussion disability culture, but instead reviewing details of the internship and answering questions.
Covid safety: UIC does not require masking, but we are still masking in our spaces as an accessibility measure for chronically ill / immunocompromised folks and those living interdependently with them. Please wear a mask! We’ll have extras on hand. People may be sipping/eating and then replacing their masks. Zoom is another Covid-cautious option.
Access info:
The DCC is located on the 2nd floor, which is accessible by elevator.
We will use auto-generated captions on Zoom.
We use fragrance free products in the DCC, but UIC is not a fragrance-free campus. To maintain a low-fragrance environment, please refrain from wearing scents to DCC events.
Please get in touch with any access requests or questions at dcc@uic.edu or 312-355-7050!
