About
Dr. Phillip Beverly is the Director of the President’s Award Program and Assistant Vice Provost in Academic and Enrollment Services. A native Chicagoan, Phillip earned his PhD at UIC in Political Science and was a tenured professor at Chicago State University for more than 25 years. He came back to UIC in 2017 in his current role. He co-chairs the African-American Recruitment, Enrollment and Retention Initiative. He serves on the Honors College Council, is an Honors College Faculty Fellow and teaches courses in the Honors College. He also supports the applicant interview process in the College of Medicine.
