Healthcare Alternative Systems (HAS) recently opened their new offices at 4734 W. Chicago in the Austin Community. The organization provides specialized counseling for substance abuse, mental health and domestic violence. This new office marks a key expansion for the organization with its state-of-the-art headquarters and treatment center.

Marco Jacome, HAS executive director, said that it was a long journey to get to the official opening and credited the Austin community leadership for welcoming them, including 37th Ward Alderman Emma Mitts.

Ald. Mitts, who spoke at the opening ceremony, said the entire community is experiencing significant growth and it welcomes the services HAS provides.
