Download iCal FileWhen Charles Mills passed away in 2021, he left many legacies: ground-breaking work in the philosophy of race, political philosophy and social epistemology, as well as many colleagues and students influenced and mentored. 2022 marks the 25th anniversary of the publication of perhaps his most influential work, The Racial Contract, a work conceived and written while Mills was a professor at UIC, and mostly drafted during a fellowship year at the Institute for the Humanities.
This conference will showcase the work of a new generation of scholars who are taking up and wrestling with Mills’s many legacies, as well as give a chance for his friends and former colleagues and students to gather and remember him.
