As the Gender and Sexuality Center (GSC) begins to commemorate its 25th anniversary, we are reflecting, reimagining, and evolving what an educational workshop for allies of LGBTQIA+ communities looks like. While understanding that terminology around identities is an important part of the work we have done in the past with Safe Zone, we are moving forward with a new workshop geared toward creating intentional space for in-depth, open dialogues about gender and sexuality. There are many intersecting identities and multiple layers of diversity within the LGBTQIA+ communities and attendees will have the opportunity to learn from speakers and one another while engaging in discussions on topics that affect the queer and trans communities today.
