Disability Cultural Center and Disability Resource Center
Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,
The Office of the Provost, the Office of Diversity, and the Office for Access and Equity are pleased to announce the creation of the Disability Cultural Center (DCC). We have identified space on the first floor of the Daley Library to serve as a temporary location of this new center, effective February 26, 2018. This Spring, a committee will be appointed by the Vice Provost for Diversity to begin the important work of strategic planning for the new Disability Cultural Center.
The Disability Resource Center (DRC) will remain in the Student Services Building and will continue to operate with the existing staff in the Student Services Building to support students with disabilities who require accommodations. The Office for Access and Equity (OAE), which currently facilitates accommodations for faculty and staff, and students enrolled in health science clinical programs, will manage the compliance functions of the DRC. OAE interacts with all university employees and students to fully understand the needs of our community with disabilities.
