October is Domestic Awarenes Month. While violence against women exists in all communities, for Arab, Muslim & Arab American communities, the issue is hardly discussed and is often silenced. When our communities are under attack, it becomes important to focus on certain forms of survival, making it harder to talk about violence against women. Through restorative justice practices and creative endeavors, this event will explore themes such as: What is family based violence? How do we approach talking about violence against eomen in the intersections of state violenve and family based violence, given the contect of Anti-Arab racism and homophobia?
Come through for food, creativity, connections & conversations.
This event is geared towards Arab & Muslim students and their allies.
